Stephen McGann – Dr. Patrick Turner from Call the Midwife

"Call the Midwife" fans got a different glimpse of their believed 'Doctor Patrick Turner' in 2022. Stephen McGann, who plays the popular character, endeared himself to many after revealing that his issue with the show's recent storyline was the absence of real babies on set.

Who would have guessed that McGann, who's been on the show for about ten years now, would be such a softie for kids? He began acting professionally in 1982, and since then, he's enjoyed great renown in British theatre and television. And after all that time, only a few well-placed wrinkles show that he's aged.

Wendi Peters - Cilla Battersby-Brown from Coronation Street

Wendi Peters is no longer the young lady who landed the role of 'Cilla Battersby-Brown' on "Coronation Street" in 2003, but she's easily recognizable thanks to her fluffy blonde hair. Even when she had it straightened for a stage production of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" in 2022, it didn't detract from her looks.

Before Peters became known for her role on that ITV soap, she had already made her television debut, appearing on shows like "Bad Girls." Afterward, thanks to her impressive baking and cooking skills, she got to share the stage with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay on "The F Word" in 2008.

John Altman - Nick Cotton from EastEnders

Not to be confused with the famous composer, this John Altman specializes in a completely different craft—acting. In fact, his onscreen persona from his "EastEnders" days is infamous for being one of the show's main antagonists. Never has a villain been loved as much as Altman despite a history of crime and violence.

But a drawback of his irresistible appeal is that he was often typecast in similar roles later in his career. Altman has done well for himself since leaving the show in 2015. And he cut a dashing figure when he showed up at the 2022 National Film Awards in a classic suit.

Anita Dobson - Angie Watts from EastEnders

These photos prove two undeniable truths— time has done nothing to dull the edges of Anita Dobson's beauty. And her warm smile still inspires devotion in the hearts of her fans. No wonder she's still remembered for her role as 'Angie Watts' on "EastEnders" even today.

Watts has also enjoyed some success as a singer, with her 1986 single "Anyone Can Fall in Love" reaching No. 4 on the UK Singles Chart. And true to her words, Watts did fall in love with acting, and it seems she's not ready to break that bond yet. In 2022, she took on the role of 'Karen' in the musical "Tomorrow Morning."

Shirley Cheriton - Debbie Wilkins from EastEnders

Shirley Cheriton spent only two years playing the part of 'Debbie Wilkins' on "EastEnders," but that was all the time she needed to inscribe her name in the hearts of fans. After all, many lovers of the show truly liked her character despite the lofty ambitions and pretentious nature she displayed on the screen.

After "EastEnders," Cheriton had brief appearances in shows like "Laura and Disorder," "Three Up Two Down," and "Are You Being Served? Again!" But she appears to be enjoying a comfortable life out of the limelight. In fact, her last on-screen performance was in the comedy series "FM" in 2009.

Jessie Wallace - Kat Slater from EastEnders

A lot may have changed for Jessie Wallace, but she's still got her bright smile and shiny dark locks. Still, her beauty is hardly the most interesting thing about her. Did you know that she's also received 20 awards since making her acting debut?

Wallace's 'Kat Slater' character has been at the heart of some of the juiciest storylines on the BBC soap opera, and she kept up the good work in 2022. But Wallace also knows how to have a good time off the set. And she received a lot of praise for her impeccable style when she appeared at Amy Winehouse's "Beyond The Stage" exhibition in 2022.

Stephanie Davis – Sinead O’Connor from Hollyoaks

Stephanie Davis may be renowned for playing 'Sinead O'Connor' on "Hollyoaks." But we'd be wrong to assume that was her first introduction to acting. After all, she was only eight years old when she was tapped to play 'Gretl von Trapp' in a stage production of "The Sound of Music."

Davis also has a heartwarming habit of sharing her experiences with fans at every stage of her life. So even when on holiday with friends and family, she keeps them updated. In 2022, she received massive support from fans after speaking about the dangers of posting heavily edited and misleading pictures on Instagram.

Amanda Holden - Carmen from EastEnders

Amanda Holden was stylish when she appeared in five episodes of "EastEnders" in 1994. And anyone who's kept up with her role as a judge on "Britain's Got Talent" would affirm that nothing's changed since then. Take these photos as clear proof.

Holden is one British celebrity whose hands can be found in many pies. She is known for co-hosting the radio show "Heart Breakfast" alongside Jamie Theakston. But she's also the author of the Sunday Times Bestseller "No Holding Back." Of course, we can't forget her debut studio album, which was released in 2020. And guess who played 'Harriet Wallace' on "Neighbours" in 2022?

Simon Gregson – Steve McDonald from Coronation Street

It takes a special kind of dedication to play the same role in a soap opera for over three decades. This is why it's almost impossible to speak about the ITV show "Coronation Street" without mentioning the legendary Simon Gregory.

Gregory was still a pupil at The Kingsway School in Stockport when he joined a search for a new cast member on the soap opera. That's how he landed the part of 'Steve McDonald,' one half of the 'McDonald Twins.' But during the three decades he's spent filming "Coronation Street," Gregory made time for other engagements such as the 2018 "Celebrity Haunted Mansion," which he won.

Lucy Benjamin – Lisa Fowler from EastEnders

We'd all like to know the secret to Lucy Benjamin's glow. The only visible sign of age is her lightened blonde hair. So how is it that after more than two decades of acting, she still looks this youthful? Benjamin made her debut as a child actress in 1983.

After "Doctor Who," she also appeared in shows like "Press Gang" and "Close to Home." But her best performance to date is as 'Lisa Fowler' in "EastEnders." Of course, her role in the medical drama series "Doctors" comes a close second. And we enjoyed more of her acting when she reprised her role as 'Jan Fisher' in 2022.

Tom Watt - Lofty Holloway from EastEnders

Tom Watt directed a lot of stage plays while studying drama at Manchester University. After getting a ton of practical experience, it's no wonder he was cast as one of the original characters in "EastEnders." Watt began playing 'Lofty Holloway' in 1958 and was consistent until 1988 when his character was discontinued.

But he also showed up briefly in a 2019 episode. "EastEnders" may have given Watt his big break but leaving the show did nothing to slow down his career. He kept busy hosting radio shows on BBC, and in 2018, he ghostwrote Thomas Salme's autobiography titled "13 Years in Heaven."

Helen Worth – Gail Platt from Coronation Street

There can be no "Coronation Street" without Helen Worth. Since joining the show in 1974, her character 'Gail Platt' has been at the center of some pretty exciting plots, and she's since praised the writers for coming up with such interesting storylines.

In 2014, Worth received the Outstanding Achievement Award for her time on the show, which is nothing less than she deserves after spending almost five decades playing the same role. She was surprised at being appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2020. But we can all agree that she's worthy of the honor thanks to her long years of faultless acting.

Gemma Merna – Carmel McQueen from Hollyoaks

Beauty becomes Gemma Merna. Whether she is playing the part of 'Carmel McQueen' on "Hollyoaks" or appearing on the gameshow "All Star Family Fortunes," she always manages to look glamorous. And anyone who thinks her talents are not fully appreciated in acting would be happy to learn that she also models in her spare time.

After eight years on "Hollyoaks" and a year on its spinoff "Hollyoaks Later," Merna decided to step down from the show in 2014. And many critics have praised her last moments on-screen as her most impressive performance. But in 2022, she announced her return to filming.

Tracy Shaw – Maxine Peacock from Coronation Street

Tracy Shaw may not have a long list of acting credits, but the little she's done has ensured that her name will never be erased from the annals of British television. After graduating from Arden School of Theatre in Manchester with a degree in theatre studies, she made her debut on "Coronation Street."

Shaw got to play 'Maxine Peacock' for almost ten years before she bowed out of the show. In a 2019 episode of "Loose Women," she revealed how leaving "Coronation Street" gave her more time with her family. And in 2021, she shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the theatre adaptation of "The Cat and the Canary."

Kate McGregor – Emily Kirk from Emmerdale

It's okay if you have trouble recognizing Kate McGregor. Unlike many on this list, she didn't devote a large portion of her life to her acting career. But McGregor's career, though brief, was equally remarkable. She made her debut as 'Emily Kirk' on "Emmerdale" in 1999 and only said goodbye to the role in 2008.

McGregor's on-screen persona was a misfit who had a couple of ill-fated romantic affairs. But life doesn't mirror art in her case. And even though she prefers to keep her family life under tight wraps, she's been living very comfortably since stepping away from the acting world.

June Brown - Dot Cotton from EastEnders

June Brown is best known for her long-running role as 'Dot Cotton' on "EastEnders." And though many moments in her career set her apart as a legendary actress, she's doubly recognized for the 2008 episode titled "Pretty Baby." That was when she became the first, and only soap actor to singlehandedly carry an entire episode.

Brown also enjoyed success in British theatre, with roles in plays like "The Lion in Winter" and "Calendar Girls." And in 2013, she took a break off the set to write her autobiography "Before the Year Dot." It was a sad day in April 2022 when she finally passed on.

Julie Goodyear – Bet Lynch from Coronation Street

Would it come as a surprise if we revealed that Julie Goodyear used to be a model before she decided to try her hand at acting? She made her start in the '60s and thrived at the height of the "Babydoll" look. Little did she know that she would later enjoy a successful career in television.

Goodyear finally landed the role of gutsy barmaid 'Bet Lynch' on "Coronation Street" in 1966. And it was meant to be a temporary role. But after winning the hearts of fans with her love for leopard print and gutsy one-liners, she returned in 1970 as a regular before finally saying goodbye in 2003.

Lucy Pargeter – Chas Dingle from Emmerdale

Lucy Pargeter needs to drop the details of her skincare because we could all stand to achieve this fresh-faced look she's got going on. Since she first appeared as 'Chas Dingle' on "Emmerdale" in 2002 to 2022, when she once again reprised her role, it's clear that she didn't drop the ball in that department.

Pargeter received the British Soap Award for Best Actress in 2019 for her role in the British soap opera. But she's also appeared on reality TV shows like "Soapstar Superstar" and "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire." Finally, in 2013 she appeared on "I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here," finishing third place.

Ben Hardy – Peter Beale from EastEnders

Ben Hardy has the typical boy-next-door looks that many can't seem to get enough of. Still, we'd be the first to say that his success as an actor has less to do with his aesthetically pleasing features and more to do with the mastery of his craft. After all, we caught his performance in "The Girl Before" in 2021.

Hardy rose to the limelight after taking on the part of 'Peter Beale' on "EastEnders" in 2013. But he left in 2015 to face more exciting opportunities. And today, his acting credits include roles in "X-Men: Apocalypse," "The Woman in White," and "6 Underground."

Ashley Slanina-Davies – Amy Barnes from Hollyoaks

Ignore the look of anguish on Ashley Slanina-Davies' face in the first photo. The second photo more than makes up for it, so take a moment to appreciate her effortless beauty. Davis made her television debut in 2005 when she was tapped to play 'Amy Barnes' on "Hollyoaks."

There are many reasons an actor could step away from a long-running role in a popular TV show. And when Davies took a break in 2012, it was to focus on her degree in Neuroscience at University College London. Davies later returned to "Hollyoaks" in 2016, but we last saw her in 2017 after her character suffered a fatal accident.

Ellis Hollins – Tom Cunningham from Hollyoaks

Ellis Hollins has been playing 'Tom Cunningham' on "Hollyoaks" since 2002. But the difference between his appearance back then and two decades later is what we'd expect of a child who's grown into a young man. Good to see he's still got those curly locks, though.

Hollins was a three-year-old when he made his acting debut. And fans have enjoyed watching his character grow and develop on-screen. He's also displayed his dramatic skills in spin-offs like "Hollyoaks Later" and "Tom's Life." Hollins starred in the short film "Powerless," which won the award of Best Short Film at the Romford Film Festival in 2020.

Sue Nicholls – Audrey Roberts from Coronation Street

During the early parts of Sue Nicholls's career, she appeared to play the part of 'Marilyn Gates' on "Crossroads" from 1964 to 1968. That role encouraged her to improve her singing, and her song "Where Will You Be" reached number 17 on the UK Singles Chart.

But now Nicholls is best known for her role on "Coronation Street." She joined the show as a guest in 1979 but was given a permanent role. And at last count, she's been on our screens for over 43 years. In 2022, Nicholls expressed her excitement when her character began exploring the issue of aging and loneliness on the show.

Sheree Murphy – Tricia Dingle from Emmerdale

Sheree Murphy may have become popular after starring in the ITV soap opera "Emmerdale." But she's just as famous for her beautiful fringe. It'd be a strange day if she ever decided to try on a new hairstyle. And it appears that day hasn't come yet.

Murphy began her career with a minor role in a single episode of "Only Fools and Horses." And it was only a matter of time before she was asked to play 'Tricia Dingle' on "Emmerdale." Leaving the show in 2003 allowed her to devote more time to her family. But she also made time for appearances on "Soapstar Superstar," "Neighbours," and other television programs.

Adele Silva – Kelly Windsor from Emmerdale

Time has been incredibly kind to Adele Silva. Looking at this picture, most would find it difficult to believe the shenanigans she got up to during her time in "Emmerdale." But then, no one can blame Silva for the antics of her on-screen persona, 'Kelly Windsor.' After all, it's Windsor who had multiple affairs even while planning her nuptials.

Fans of the show would know all about that drama. But Silva must have gotten tired of the dramatic rollercoaster because she left "Emmerdale" in 2007 to pursue other projects. She appeared in the short film "Bai Bai Barnet" in 2019 when she played 'Serena Lee.'

Jack P. Shepherd – David Platt from Coronation Street

Jack P. Shepherd is another cobbles star who seemed very comfortable playing his part on "Coronation Street" in 2022. There's something about British soap operas that encourages a lifetime of devotion in its actors, and we're here for it.

When Shepherd was first introduced on the show, he played the part of a troubled teenager who was determined to wreak havoc in the lives of the other characters. But the writers provided him with a redemption arc so he'd keep his darker side in check and focus on his family. Off the cobbles. Shepherd has made guest appearances on "This Morning," "Celebrity Juice," and "Loose Women."

Dawn Acton – Tracy Barlow from Coronation Street

Don Acton is blessed with fair skin that laughs in the face of the global climate crisis. Either that or she doesn't play when it comes to skincare. Still, her looks in either of these photos say nothing about the trials her 'Tracy Barlow' character went through during her time on "Coronation Street."

Acton was 11 years old when she joined the cobbles cast. She left after the birth of her son, and rather than seeking other acting opportunities, she chose to pursue a career as a DJ. In her spare time, Acton volunteers at the charity "Beanstalk," where she helps kids develop a love for reading.

Linda Davidson – Mary Smith from EastEnders

Linda Davidson went from being a goth kid to a stylish woman with cropped hair, and the transition suits her well. But it's obvious to fans of "EastEnders" that the first picture was taken from her time on the show. After all, she did play the part of 'Mary Smith,' a wayward punk kid.

As one of the show's original characters, Davidson garnered quite a fan following from 1985 when she made her debut until 1988 when she left. But she returned for a single episode in 2019. Davidson retired from the screen in the late '90s. Then she went on to pursue a career as a media consultant.

Eileen Derbyshire – Emily Bishop from Coronation Street

Eileen Derbyshire was once described as one of the last of a dying breed. She belongs to a class of film stars who do the job out of love rather than for the publicity that comes with it. And even though her son made the statement, it rings true.

Derbyshire spent nearly six decades on "Coronation Street." Yet we can only count a handful of times when she was seen out and about in public. She also didn't appear in any of the show's publicity videos or even at award ceremonies. She finally said her goodbyes in 2016 after after 55 years of acting.

Ryan Thomas – Jason Grimshaw from Coronation Street

If Ryan Thomas looks familiar, it could be because he was one of the celebrity contestants on "The Game" and "Celebrity Masterchef" in 2022. And his love for reality television came after he announced his decision to quit acting in 2021, citing that he'd lost the bug for it.

Thomas rose to fame after landing the role of 'Jason Grimshaw' on "Coronation Street." He left the cobbles in 2016 and took on the part of "Rafael Humphreys' in the Australian soap "Neighbours" a year later. His other claim to fame is the final series of "Celebrity Big Brother," which he won in 2018.

Michelle Ryan - Zoe Slater from EastEnders

Michelle Ryan has spent a good portion of her acting career taking on projects that allow her to explore a variety of genres. And we salute her efforts to broaden her skills. So you may recognize her from the short-lived sci-fi series "Bionic Woman" or the fantasy-adventure series "Merlin."

That single episode of "Doctor Who" where she played 'Lady Christina de Souza' is another safe bet. But Ryan's most memorable role would have to be as 'Zoe Slater' on "EastEnders." She made her first appearance in 2000 and left the series in 2005. But five years was all she needed to make her mark.

Helen Flanagan – Rosie Webster from Coronation Street

Helen Flanagan expressed her love for acting at a really young age. And her parents were wise enough to enroll her at Carol Godby's Theatre Workshop, where she received drama lessons. She appeared in several advertisements until 2000 when she landed a role on "Coronation Street."

Joining the other cast members on the cobbles gave Flanagan a chance to widen her fan base. So even after saying her goodbyes in 2018, she remained a hot topic in entertainment news. Just look how excited her fans were in 2022 when she donned a floral Lavish Alice dress to mark her son's first birthday.

Letitia Dean – Sharon Watts from EastEnders

Letitia Dean gives off a "don't mess with me" vibe in the first photo that perfectly captures the overly confident and sassy nature of her on-screen character 'Sharon Watts.' The "EastEnders" star captured the hearts of many following her debut as a grumpy teenager.

Yet she hadn't lost her appeal in 2022 when her youthful looks sent fans of the show into a Twitter frenzy. Despite her success in English television, Dean has also displayed her talents in theatre productions like "Loot" and "Rattle of a Simple Man." She also received the Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2022 British Soap Awards for her nearly four-decade run on "EastEnders."

Maisie Smith – Tiffany Butcher from EastEnders

Looking at this captivating photo of Maisie Smith, it's almost difficult to believe that she was only six years old when she first appeared on "EastEnders." At the time, her mother admitted that the role of 'Bianca Jackson' was absolutely perfect for her because it closely mirrored her real-life personality.

Smith was also praised for her memory and perfect understanding of the script. And that hadn't changed in 2022 when she reprised her role for one final appearance. Leaving "Eastenders" gave Smith more time to focus on her other passions. And she went on to contest in the 2022 edition of "Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins."

Barbara Knox – Rita Tanner from Coronation Street

Barbara Knox is another old-timer who's spent much of her acting career on the cobbles. And if we can say only one thing about this "Coronation Street" star, it's that she puts the 'grace' in the phrase "age gracefully." Nearly six decades after she made her debut on the show, she still carries the same hairdo.

After Wiliam Roache, who plays 'Ken Barlow,' Knox remains the show's second-longest serving cast member. But despite her prestigious status, she still knows how to have fun. A fact she demonstrated in 2022 when she joined her fellow cast members for their annual summer bash in Manchester.

Gillian Taylforth – Kathy Beale from EastEnders

Gillian Taylforth has made a lot of television appearances throughout her career. After her acting debut in the early '70s, she took on roles in productions like "Play for Today," "Sink or Swim," and "Rag Trade." Later in the '00s, she appeared as a celebrity contestant on "Strictly Come Dancing."

A random person on the street is more likely to recognize Taylforth for her role as 'Kathy Beale' on "EastEnders." She joined the cast in 1985 and was present in the show's first episode. Finally, in 2022, she revealed that exercise and a veggie-rich diet are to thank for her youthful figure.

Beverley Callard – Liz McDonald from Coronation Street

Apart from the straightened curls and a change in makeup, there's not much difference between these pictures of Beverly Callard. But it's easy to see how someone so dedicated to aerobics could retain such a trim figure even in her '60s.

Callard got her first taste of television in 1983 when she was cast as 'Angie Richards' on "Emmerdale Farm." Though those roles earned her some recognition, Callard became even more of a household name following her performance on "Coronation Street." She began playing 'Liz McDonald' in 1989 but announced her departure from the show in 2019. She also appeared in "Newark, Newark" in 2022.

Steven Arnold – Ashley Peacock from Coronation Street

Steven Arnold is another "Coronation Street" star who's done quite well for himself. As of 2020, he'd added some heft to his portfolio by directing and producing a series of short films, including "The Darkroom" and "Nicholas." Not bad for a man who rose to fame playing 'Ashley Peacock' on the cobbles.

Arnold joined the ITV soap family in 1995, and viewers were so impressed by his acting that he was nominated for Best Actor at the 1999 National Television Awards. After spending 15 years on the show, he left to focus on other pursuits. We're excited to see what else he comes up with.

Charles Lawson – Jim McDonald from Coronation Street

We can all agree that the grey hair suits Charles Lawson, imbuing him with a distinguished air that fits a veteran of his status. He dedicated a decade of his life and then some to the portrayal of 'Jim McDonald' on "Coronation Street." But his career as a performer far transcends the cobbled streets.

Lawson trained to become an actor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Upon graduation, he landed roles in television shows like "Harry's Game," "Doctors," and "Bread." And in 2022, he appeared on an installment of GB News where a certain art company was up for discussion.

William Roache – Ken Barlow from Coronation Street

Did you know that William Roache has a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest-serving television soap star in the world? He had just finished his military service and was beginning his acting career when he got approached to play 'Ken Barlow' on "Coronation Street."

Roache was initially hesitant to take the role because it didn't have a lot of publicity yet. But his agent convinced him to give it a try. Thankfully so, because the show changed his life, and 60 years later, he couldn't resist telling anyone who cared to listen that he had no plans to retire.

Malcolm Hebden – Norris Cole from Coronation Street

Malcolm Hebden may not have spent as much time on the cobbles as Barbara Knox and William Roache, but he's lasted longer than many others. After all, 27 years is nothing to scoff at. When he first joined the show in 1974, he acted as Thelma Barlow's Spanish boyfriend 'Carlos.'

He returned in 1994, embodying a completely different character. And he faired much better playing the eccentric 'Norris Cole' who couldn't keep his nose out of people's business. He also won the Best Onscreen Partnership award alongside Barbara Knox at the 2006 British SoapAwards. Hebden made his final appearance in 2020 before announcing his retirement from acting the following year.

Pam St. Clement - Pat Butcher from EastEnders

Pam St. Clement is another household name in British television. Her popularity is well earned after she spent 25 good years playing 'Pat Butcher' on "EastEnders." Can anyone even claim to be a fan of the show if they don't recognize the iconic 'Queen of Walford?'

One thing that set St. Clement's on-screen persona apart from the other characters was her world-class selection of the most eye-catching earrings and her unending empathy. This explains why fans were upset when ITV announced her departure from the show in 2011. Still, the wishes she received on her birthday in 2022 show that she's not easily forgotten.

Peter Dean - Pete Beale from EastEnders

Peter Dean owes much of his success in television to veteran actress Prunella Scales. Because it was when she saw him rehearsing at Petticoat Lane Market that she advised him to take some drama classes to better hone his skills. Dean took her advice, and today we can celebrate his years of service on the British soap opera scene.

Dean got his breakthrough role in 1978 when he was cast as 'Jack Lynn' in "Law and Order." But he went on to appear in other shows, including "Shoestring," "Minder," and "Hammer House of Horror." Of course, he's best remembered for playing 'Pete Beale' in "EastEnders."

Deena Payne – Viv Hope from Emmerdale

Deena Payne is of those lucky individuals who seem to be aging backward. Few people can boast of such clear skin even after crossing the six-decade mark. But Payne is nothing if not special. She's also a familiar face on television, thanks to the 18 years she spent playing 'Viv Hope' on "Emmerdale."

She finally left the show after her character was killed off in a fire. But in a 2022 interview with the Distinct Nostalgia podcast, she revealed her disappointment at how things ended. Payne believed he could have done much more on the show and would have preferred to stay.

Adam Woodyatt - Ian Beale from EastEnders

When Adam Woodyatt joined the cast of "EastEnders" in 1985, he assumed it was only a temporary job and didn't expect it to last more than a year. Isn't it funny that now he's being celebrated as the longest-serving male cast member on the show after nearly four decades?

Woodyatt's longevity was even recognized at the 2013 British Soap Awards, where he received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his role. But in 2020, he took an extended break from the show. Woodyatt has since been doing fine. In 2022, he was tapped to appear in a stage production of "My Fair Lady."

Penny Smith - Penny from Jonathan Creek

Penny Smith is a renowned TV and radio personality out of Nottinghamshire in the United Kingdom. Not only has she hosted various reality TV and talk shows on BBC and ITV, but she has also made a few acting cameos in TV soaps. Her most famous role is probably from the 2001 show "Jonathan Creek."

After Smith had started working on the newspaper Peterborough Evening Telegraph as a reporter, that was possibly her inspiration to work with various news channels as a presenter. A healthy living and fitness enthusiast, Smith also released three yoga videos for potential practitioners at the beginner's level.

Vinnie Jones - Bullet-Tooth Tony from Snatch

Vinnie Jones started his career as a professional soccer player with Wealdstone in 1984. He also played with the Welsh national team, however, retired sometime around 1999, possibly owing to a successful acting stint in the Guy Ritchie film "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels." And that was probably a great decision considering the success he has achieved.

In 2000, Jones appeared in Guy Ritchie's follow-up film named "Snatch" and has since made a reputation for himself with tough characters. Also a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we saw him in "X-Men: The Last Stand" as Juggernaut. As of 2022, Jones had over 100 titles to his credit.

Charlotte Hawkins - Good Morning Britain

Charlotte Hawkins is possibly best known as the presenter of ITV's "Good Morning Britain," a show she joined in 2014 and has presented to date. Her career began as a newsreader and reporter for LBC radio, after which she has been on various projects, including ITV's "Meridian Tonight" and "Sunrise" on Sky News.

By the late '00s, Hawkins had become a household name with breakfast shows, and it was probably time to expand her resume when she participated in the reality TV program "Strictly Come Dancing" in 2017. Hawkins has also made cameos as a newsreader or TV presenter in movies such as "Burnt" from 2015.

Helen Shapiro - Viv Harker from Albion Market

British singer Helen Shapiro received much fame across the United Kingdom when she was only 15. Her first-ever single, "Don't Treat Me Like a Child," became popular as soon as she performed it on the ITV show "Thank Your Lucky Stars."

Since then, Shapiro has topped the charts twice, and two of her singles sold over a million copies and earned gold discs. And all this was in her debut year. She met actor John Judd in 1982 and married him after six years. During that time, she also got her iconic role in the drama series "Albion Market," in which she appeared in 74 episodes as Viv Harker.

Paul Hogan - Mick 'Crocodile' Dundee from Crocodile Dundee

Actor and comedian Paul Hogan started a comedy series titled "The Paul Hogan Show" in 1973. However, that one wasn't very popular among the masses. After the last of its episodes aired in 1984, he wrote and directed a feature called "Crocodile Dundee," released in 1986.

The film not only drew acclaim worldwide, the title character, played by Hogan, became his identity after that. He bagged an Oscar nomination for the creation and won a Golden Globe for performance. Hogan went on to deliver three other sequels, with the fourth one released in 2020 titled "The Very Excellent Mr. Crocodile Dundee."

Kelly Reilly - Caroline Bingley from Pride & Prejudice

Kelly Reilly is a British actress who has played a few great supporting characters in her career. A graduate in drama from the Tolworth Girls' School in Kingston, she played Caroline Bingley in "Pride & Prejudice" and portrayed Mary Morstan in the Robert Downey Jr. starring hit "Sherlock Holmes" and its sequel "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows."

In 2005, Reilly won the Trophée Chopard at the Cannes Film Festival. She also won the London Film Critics Circle for British Newcomer of the Year along with two more awards for her acting in the 2005 feature "Mrs. Henderson Presents." Reilly's been happily married to Kyle Baugher, a financier, since 2012.

Dawn French - Various Characters from French and Saunders

Dawn French is best known for running the BBC comedy sketch show "French and Saunders" with her partner Jennifer Saunders. The show aired 52 episodes between 1987 and 2017, each with comedic skits based on movie parodies and British life in general.
